The Philippines is an island country in the Southeast Asia. It is called the Pearl of the Orient because of its distinct formation in the Pacific Ocean.

The Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands. This makes this island nation one of the best destinations in the world when it comes to beautiful tourist destinations, specifically beaches. The Philippines has hundreds of beaches that are in its three main islands, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. In the Philippines, you will never run out of beaches to explore.

Boracay Island is found 315 miles from Manila, which is the capital of the Philippines. It is within the municipality of Malay, in Aklan Province. It is a very small island wherein you can drive from one point to the other point in less than thirty minutes.

There are many ways to reach Boracay. One can ride a plane with over twenty flights a day everyday through different major and budget airlines. There are also trips provided by many different ships going directly to Boracay port. In a sense, Boracay is a very accessible place to go to which makes it a tourist friendly destination.

Boracay is a Philippine’s pride because of its pristine white beaches that are at par with the white beaches of the other countries. Its sand is very powdery fine, like flour in fact. The sand also does not become hot even under the midday sun! This is the first reason why Boracay is very popular. Most beaches in the Philippines have gray and coarse sand.

In addition to this, Boracay island is not only made up of one single beach but eight beaches in total! These eight beaches can be visited by land, water, and even air. These beaches are best for snorkeling, scuba diving, helmet diving, and a lot more under water activities.

Boracay is also home to water sports for the water enthusiast like banana boat, parasailing, sailing paraws, windsurfing, kite boarding, and even cliff diving. These are all available around the whole island.

Accommodation in Boracay island is very accessible with over a hundred different hotels, bed and breakfast, inns, and even apartments which are for rent. Prices vary depending on class. There are five star hotels in Boracay for the luxurious tourist and cheap hotels for the budget conscious.

Boracay is also known as a hotspot for night life and clubbing. A lot of bars and clubs are open until dawn to provide the night life boost for the young and the party goers. Boracay’s night life is one of the most popular in the Philippines.

Boracay is very much worthy of the time to visit. It is a paradise in its own right given the natural resources and the man-made resources that the island has.
